Hospitality or tourism e-marketer's should worry about the authenticity of their images because it can affect a person's view of the company. If a person visits a blog site and sees false images, it will deter them from wanting to re-visit not only thier blog, but their actual company. Some exceptions may be if a company is preparing for renovations. They may post drawings of what it will look like in the end.
For hotel's it could affect their business. If I was booking a trip online, and I choose my hotel by the photos on their blog, than arrived at my hotel of choice and it turned out to not be what was preconceived, I would probably not return to that hotel. Which could harm a company more if it were a chain porperty.
Posting a non-authentic image is basically lying to their visitors. If they won't post an authentic image, than what are they trying to hide?

Lindsay,
One way of shoring up the credibility of an image is to ensure the other components of the site appear credible.
In other words, if the font is ugly, the text badly written or the information is scanty, the picture may not be trusted.
Credibility is built overall.
